Bill Gates predicts that progress in artificial intelligence will significantly reduce the role of humanity in many traditional tasks such as medicine and education – and seismic change can happen in less than 10 years.
During a recent interview with comedian Jimmy Fallon in NBC’s The Tonight Show, the co -founder of Microsoft described a future where people are no longer needed for most things because AI technology will easily perform tasks that currently require specialized human skills.
Today, expert knowledge in fields such as medicine and education remain “rare”, Gates said, adding that these areas depend on a “great doctor” or “great teacher”.

But in the next decade “Awesome Medical Council [and] Great training ”will be free and usual, Gates said.
Gates further developed this vision for a new era, which he defines “free intelligence” in a conversation last month with Arthur Brooks, a professor at Harvard, known for his research on happiness.

Although acknowledged potential disturbances, Gates remains optimistic to the positive contribution of AI, including breakthroughs in medical treatments, climate solutions and widespread education.

Nevertheless, he admits that certain activities will always remain specific to humans.
“There will be some things we reserve for ourselves,” Gates told Fallon, citing entertainment activities as examples.
“But in terms of doing things and moving things and growing food, over time, this will be mainly resolved problems.”
However, Gates acknowledges legitimate concerns about the rapid development of AI – it emphasizes his tendency to make mistakes and misinformation online in a blog post 2023.
But the billionaire said that if he starts a startup today, he would pursue an AI-centric endeavor.
